The Ironwood Show Art Challenge

​The Show Committee is inviting you to participate in an art challenge for creating a

collaborative piece of art for the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum 2023 Show. This

piece will be used to advertise the show and will hang near the exhibit’s entrance.

Our vision is nine 8” x 8” pastels matted and mounted in one frame.  You can

download the photo to be used by clicking on the link below.  Since your strokes

will reflect your individuality and unique approach, please do a representational

painting and be faithful to the photo.


In other words, please do not add or remove any item in the photo image. 

The show committee will select the final nine paintings. Because this collaborative art

will be for sale during the show and with the proceeds going to ASDM and the

TPS building fund, we are asking you to donate your piece.  All entries are due

by January 15, 2023 (same as ASDM show deadline).  Winning artists will be notified

on January 20, 2023.  The nine selected pieces will need to be delivered to Becky for

framing on Wednesday, January 27, 2023. We hope you will all ​enjoy a shared art

​experience and PAINT, PAINT, PAINT!

Art Challenge Guidelines:  
  • The finished piece of your art must be 8 1/2" x 8 1/2". 
  • You may use your choice of ground (paper). 
  • No mounted boards.​
  • The photo of your blanket flower art must be 300 dpi. ​

Previously..........

At the Tucson Pastel Society Show in 2021, the photo on the left

was the art challenge.  The photo on the right was the finished

framed art.  As you can see, no additions were made to the photo,

only the artist ​interpretation of the subject.  The individually of the

​artists created a stunning finished piece.
