Fred Ruth |
A bout of shingles curbed my retirement activity of golf and any other physical activity. A partially filled notebook, about 10 years old became my companion. In a short period of time, I became addicted, realized that I liked sketching and within a few months had many sketch books full of such drawings. They were from many sources, just anything that struck me at the moment. I realize now that I was teaching myself the basics off all art. Subsequently I became interested in sculpting and that led to painting. I still have much to learn and less time to get to levels I want, but if nothing else, I have proven to myself that no ambition is beyond a good effort. |
The oil paintings: after Bellows (Sanctuary), Fechin (Sunflowers). Some sketches from the beginning of my interest in art.
Looking good Fred for an old Navy warhorse and I love your paintings and sketches. Anchors away!
